Genuinely so delicious. Very strong umami flavor, tastes just like bacon. Meshes perfectly with the sweetness from the maple. I'm already craving more despite just having finished the bag
I never thought a non-meat jerky would get this close to red meat. I really think the only thing missing is that internal "fatiness" that meat has. Real jerky ends up being a bit more greasy to the touch.
BUT PLEASE don't mistake that as something that should be added. The flavors are really clean and punchy, and I am pretty sure any veggie oil that you finagle into this recipe would only take away from that.
Incredibly well done, folks. Aside from wishing it cost a little less, I don't really see myself going back to regular jerky any time soon :)
Yummy but Black Pepper is still my favorite.
