Road Stick

I grew up eating SlimJims when we’d visit my grandparents or traveled. I missed the taste but not the source - animals. I finally found a humane substitute that tastes amazing and brings me back to childhood. Thank you!

These jerky sticks taste just like the real thing. I stopped eat meat in 1996 and use to love eating jerky sticks. When I seen this I was curious to give it a try.

I usually love Louisville Jerky but this is horrible. It has a weird olive aftertaste. Really kicking myself for buying the 15 pack. Definitely try the 5 before making a larger order. The flavor is very.. odd.

I’ve been a longtime fan of Louisville Jerky Co.’s vegan jerkies, so I was really looking forward to trying their new Road Sticks. Unfortunately, this one is a bit of a swing and a miss for me.

The flavor is pretty good. I don’t love it, but it has a nice savory smokiness that’s enjoyable. It also wasn’t quite as reminiscent of a Slim Jim as I was expecting based on the concept.

Where it really loses me is the texture. I was hoping for something closer to Bean Stalk’s Savory Salami sticks, with a firmer but slightly more tender bite and chew. Instead, the Road Sticks come across as a bit drier. It’s a different kind of texture than I was expecting, and it’s just not my preference.

That said, taste is subjective. My wife really enjoys them and happily finished the rest of the pack, so your mileage may vary on the vegan snack road. While these won’t be a repeat purchase for me, I’m still a loyal Louisville Jerky Co. fan and will continue to enthusiastically recommend their traditional vegan jerky products.

These are awesome! Taste great! Perfect texture and the kind of easy open packaging that some food peeps ignore! I bought 30 of them for a bunch of ferocious vegans and I’ll need more immediately. Every product LJC makes is perfect, love this new line and wow if they do regular and small batch flavors, I’ll go broke!!! AWESOME!

The "skin" or outer layer & flavoring is perfect, however I'm disappointed by the texture of the inside of the stick. It's just mushy & lacking inside.

I love these, they have a great taste and a good texture! I wish they had a multipack discount though, as they are 3x the cost as the popular meat stick dupe. Since they don’t have to be refrigerated like when you open the jerky, I like to keep these in my car for a quick snack.

It was such a waste. I normally love this brand of jerky, but they def missed the mark on these road sticks. Tastes like little bits of their jerky in a tube of powdered plant protein. Very outputting and I’m upset because that $15 could have gone elsewhere lol. Took two bites and tossed all 5 sticks

Horrible. I had to spit it out. Unfortunately I ordered a lot for an upcoming trip. I love the regular jerky but this is a huge miss. It’s both the taste and texture.

Great taste

I love a lot of LVJ but I'm sorry, this is not my favorite. The after taste of the pea protein is not good. I'll have to pass.

Love it !

my least favorite thing I've purchased ljco. I didn't enjoy the taste. it wasn't for me but it may be a great option for you.

Great addition to the LVJC. Big fan. Now we just need some fine shredded jerky in a dip can.

the texture is a little soft. tasty 😊

I love these! Got so excited I bought 3 and it was so good, definitely recommend if you enjoy the flavor of a slim Jim

So yummy!

Great snack

Was really looking forward to these. Unfortunately they have a plastic aftertaste - not sure if it’s due to the packaging? They also are quite grainy in texture. Bought a 5 pack and don’t think I’ll be getting through a single one.

Taste great - super convienant

They didn’t taste like the jerky that I buy in the bags jerky which I I do love but there’s something missing from the jerky sticks they aren’t as good as the bags if you fix that then you would have a great product.

My eight year old gymnast loves these since we commute an hour to practice! Easy, clean, convenient and taste great!

It’s nice to find any non-meat “meat stick”, so kudos for making one. The taste is great, but the texture could use some tweaking. It’s a little grainy/mushy inside. If it had the same “snap” inside that the outside edge/casing has, it would be perfect!

Tastes so good, amazing flavor, best jerky I've had and I love the stick form! I just wish there was a discount when buying more in bulk.

ROAD STICK ROAD STICK ROAD STICK freakin' rules

Just diesnt taste very good

These are so close to real! I love that I can just grab one and go, and it tastes so good!

I wanted to love these. I was so looking forward to them. I couldn’t finish two bites. They were inedible to me. Like they melted immediately into sawdust in my mouth. The flavor is actually decent but the texture was really bad. Almost like chewing kinetic sand. I was sad.

Weirdly dry and crumbly texture. The taste is okay, but I think a spicy version would be better.
We'll eat what we ordered, but probably won't buy them again.

Quite delicious and satisfying!
