This is so much better than those iconic crappy bits you threw on your baked potato as a kid. So stinking tasty we throw it on everything.
Sometimes meat substitutes can get a little weird, but I really felt like this one knocked it out of the park. The flavor is savory with a slight hint of sweetness, and the texture is slightly chewy in a really appealing way, although I’ve heard you can fry them to get them crispier if that’s more your speed. I used these as a topping in my high-protein mac and cheese, and they really elevated the whole dish. Looking forward to trying these on my baked potatoes and loaded fries in the future!
I was not sure about the “bacon” bits topping, but I’m super impressed. I do like my “bacon” crispy so I lightly toast it before putting on my potatoes or salads.
